Chippie users to benefit from longer validity of SIM cards with higher reloads

Regular reloads will keep the SIM cards of Chippie users active for longer!

WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao (July 22nd, 2020) – More value and greater benefits are on the way for mobile prepaid Chippie customers.

Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chippie is working hard to ensure its mobile prepaid customers enjoy the very best value and service experience when reloading their call credit balance by extending the validity of Curaçao Chippie SIM cards.

“Since the start of the pandemic it has been made more and more clear the importance of connectivity. A SIM card becoming inactive when most needed is a situation which we do not want our customers to go through, so in the next few weeks we will introduce a customer-focused initiative whereby the higher the reload amount made on a Chippie number, the higher the extension of the SIM card validity,” said Danny Macaya, Country Manager.

Effective September 1st, 2020, when a customer reloads their call credit balance with an ANG 5 scratch card the “active state” of the SIM card will be extended with 15 days; a reload of ANG 10 will be extended to 30 days; a reload of ANG 25 will be extended to 60 days; a reload of ANG 50 will be extended to 90 days; and a reload of ANG 100 will be extended to 120 days.

SIM cards will remain active once the credit balance is greater than zero and the expiry date has not yet been reached. For customers using Chippie’s prepaid bundles they can keep using the bundle credit (voice/SMS/data) irrespective of the SIM’s state.

If a customer is not subscribed to any bundles, when their credit balance reaches zero or the balance expires, they will only be able to receive calls. The SIM will then be “inactive” for 14 days. After these 14 days it will no longer be possible to receive calls, but after a reload the customer will be active again. To re-activate the SIM, customers need to reload their main balance.

Reloads can be made via online banking, direct reload at UTS and Flow stores, via E-pin/E-voucher, UTIL SMS reload (SMS 1111), ATM machines, Pagomátiko, Pagafásil, by exchanging Fun Miles for call credit or by transferring credit from one Chippie to another Chippie number.
